Safety Current! - All members must take or have taken the Introduction to Safety Course online. Additionally, to be ‘Safety Current,’ all members can maintain 'safety currency' by attending monthly squadron safety briefings.
Membership: Safety is a critical part of CAP’s mission. To ensure that all CAP programs and missions are accomplished within the required safety regulations and adhere to USAF/CAP safety protocals, all members must have a “Safety Current” status. There are no exceptions to this hard and fast rule. If a member’s safety status is expired for three months; Senior members will be transferred to ‘patron status’ and cadets will be terminated.
To remain safety current members should attend monthly squadron safety briefings. If a member is not able to attend a squadron safety briefing, he or she may take one of the online safety courses available in E-Services. If a member anticipates that they will not be attending multiple squadron meetings and/or safety briefings, he or she should discuss this situation with the Squadron Safety Officer.
